Parent Support Group in East Leeds

Parent Support Group in Garforth, East Leeds.

The Jigsaw Tree is starting a new parent support group, for families in East Leeds.

We have started this group because, from a personal perspective, there was no similar service available when we were looking for support ourselves during the diagnosis process. We are there for mutual support, non-judgmental advice and understanding. We can’t promise to know everything, but we can help you find out! And there will be free cakes and hot drinks, what more can we say… We really hope to see you there and to say ‘Hi’.

Leeds Libraries are kindly letting us use their Boardmaker software to make visual supports/PECS cards, if you need any, and staff will be on hand to show you how.

The meetings will be held at Garforth Library in the main meeting room, between 1:30 and 3:15 pm on:

  • 17th September
  • *15th October
  • 19th November and
  • 17th December.

*At the 2nd Meeting on 15th October, there will be a short presentation from Leeds City Council’s Complex Needs Service, to help explain the Leeds Local Offer.

The Leeds local offer is all about making it easier for people in our city to find information about services and support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
